Kelli's Chorus Concert

Tonight was my sister's Christmas chorus concert. It was as to be expected, until the Senior Chorus took the stage. One of their songs was Believe from the Polar Express. That is one of my favorite songs. Josh Groban originally sang it. For this song, they had a scene from the DVD playing on the screen behind them, the guys on stage right, and the girls on stage left. It was pretty good. The timing of them singing the song and the movie lining up was perfect. Then it was time for the last song, the Hallelujah Chorus. Every year for this song Alumni are invited onto the stage to sing with the Senior Chorus. Of course I went up! I blasted the bass part as I always do. My theory is that if someone beside you is singing loud, you'll sing loud. Well, I guess that doesn't always work with high schoolers. After the concert my mom informed me that me and my one friend could be heard the most. I really don't like standing out in a group like that... that's not what it's for. Everyone should blend. No sooner did the song start, the whole left side of the stage turned around to see where that voice was coming from. It was me. :-/ I guess they never heard anyone sing loud before. After the song was over I greeted my high school chorus teacher, who I hadn't seen for a while, and some old friends.
