iPod!!!

OK, so have you ever seen that FedEx commercial where the guy is not quite dressed because delivery people never show up when they're supposed to, then the FedEx guy shows up on time and the guy gets mad that he did his job correctly? Well, I feel the same way. I ordered a 40GB iPod Photo and Apple gave me an estimated delivery date of March 25. I thought, "That's just the worst case scenario, they'll be here on Thursday." That was the worst thing I could have thought. They were right. Friday it was. Right before church the FedEx guy showed up with the iPod. The box seems rather small. I opened it and there was the iPod box. The box was no bigger than a 6" cube. I was expecting something... bigger. So what's the first thing I do? I opened it and started pressing buttons. Then I looked at the back and it said, "To turn the iPod on, press any button." Whopps. Guess I just turned it on. I played for a couple minutes, then actually got out the book and followed the idiot-proof instructions. I charged it with the wall jack, installed the software (even though you have iTunes, you need to install the other iPod software), formatted the iPod, then transferred my music. Charging took about 4 hours. Coping my music was exceptionally fast. I have 4887 songs (a little over 21GB) and it only took about 40 minutes to copy. I'm listening to it as I type. And I must say, the default Apple earbuds exceed my expectations. Apple knows their stuff. I've decided that as long as I have my Windows laptop for things that I can't possibly do on other OS's, my next computer will be a Mac. I'm thinking of getting a Mac mini, that way I have lots of extra money to get a super-big Apple Cinema Display. Although, if I want the 30" display, I'll need a Mac that can handle a very expensive Nvidia SLI card... :)
